MINUTES OF FIRST MEETING

Date : 25th October, 2010
Location: Room 3, Drill hall library, Medway campus.

Contribution to discussion

All group members introduced themselves formally. Nurudeen suggested that email addresses should be exchanged for effective communication purposes throughout the group work. This was seconded by Chibuzo and other group members. Clement further suggested that phone numbers should be included as well which was seconded by Rounik and Amanda. It was agreed on by all members that the group leader will be take on the work of the secretary. Members took it in turns to read out the case study overview online directive. As all members had carried out individual study in order to answer the first portal based MCQ, group members thus critically discussed the case study by interpreting and discussing the results of the tests involved with the case study. All members agreed from their research that the 6 year old male patient was suffering from Acute pharyngitis. They also expressed their opinion on what was expected to be written on the sub-headings which are; Introduction, Infectious agent, Epidermiology, Pathogenicity, Clinical aspects, Therapies and Conclusion. It was agreed on by all that topics will be chosen in the next meeting pending further review of the case study individually and searching for supporting journals. All members also agreed upon that the introduction and conclusion will be written by all group members after the other sub-headings have been written.

  4. The case study overview online directive was read out in turns by all members.
  5. Group members critically discussed the case study and arrived at the conclusion that the 6 year old male patient was suffering from Acute pharyngitis. Group members expressed their opinion on what was expected to be written on the sub-headings: Introduction, Infectious agent, Epidermiology, Pathogenicity, Clinical aspects, Therapies and Conclusion.
  6. It was agreed that topics will be chosen in the next meeting pending further review of the case study individually and searching for supporting articles.
  7. It was also agreed on that the introduction and conclusion will be written by all group members after the other sub-headings have been written.
